Skyler Integrates with ReutersSeparately, Walnut Creek, Calif.-based Skyler Technology has partnered with Reuters to integrate direct exchange feeds delivered via Reuters Data Feed Direct and re-aggregate Level 2 data for securities traded on multiple venues in a consolidated order book. The partnership enables users to feed North American data from RDF Direct into Skyler's C3 database, which creates consolidated order books for securities traded on multiple venues. The consolidated book is then passed via Reuters' RMDS data platform into downstream trading applications, a Reuters official says, such as algorithmic trading and smart order routing applications, that require a consolidated market view on which to base trading and routing decisions. Consolidating and maintaining full depth of order books in real time adds just a few extra milliseconds of latency, the official says.
The Skyler database allows users to aggregate data in various ways and to drill down into individual price levels to reveal the quantity offered at each venue's price. The integration work to connect the systems is complete, though the Reuters official declines to comment on whether any clients are yet using the system.
