Job Summary:

This is a great opportunity for you to show off your technical know-how along with your passion for customer support! The Technical Support Engineer is responsible for providing world-class support to existing and prospective Skyler capital market clients. The TSE will act as the first point of contact for all routine and highly complex customer software issues. You will document activities and develop and maintain documents on architecture, configuration, policies processes and procedures. The TSE’s input will be critical in our continuous improvement process. You will also be responsible for customer evaluations, configuration of products as well as installation of products.

Experience:

  • 2 – 3 years in financial services industry experience required
  • Previous customer service experience required
  • Working knowledge of C/C++, Linux, Unix, Windows required
  • Java, SQL knowledge is desirable
  • In-memory or relational database understanding desired
  • Working knowledge of customer support tracking tools
  • Technical support experience desirable

Education:

  • BS/MS Computer Science or equivalent major in Applied Science or Mathematics

  • Strong software development background, detailed technical knowledge and knowledge of market data applications.
  • Good problem solving skills; ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it.
  • Ability to handle constantly changing flow of traffic and multitask effectively; exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations, and remain productive during periods of low customer activity.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Travel Required: Periodic four day visits to California headquarters.

Telecommute: Potential for one day per week.
