SKYLER ANNOUNCES EARLY ACCESS PROGRAM FOR NEW REAL-TIME DATABASE
First-of-its-Kind Product Wins Praise from Financial Industry Experts
including Bill Lupien, TowerGroup and Others
NEW YORK CITY, June 20, 2006 — Skyler Technology has announced at the SIA Technology Management Conference in New York City the launch of an early access program for a unique new database product. The new product represents an evolution from existing custom-built data processing applications and point solutions to a flexible, off-the-shelf application for managing market data in real time.
In the midst of a tremendous increase in data volumes and compliance requirements, Skyler's new product is capturing the interest of financial services organizations and industry experts alike.
The Skyler C3™ Database for Dynamic Data is a 3-in-1 product and the first low-latency, modular platform that combines a real-time cache, a stream processing engine, and a time series database in one fast, flexible and easy-to-use product. This combination of characteristics changes the way software developers will create solutions to meet increasing performance demands.
Skyler's early access program is available for qualified financial services organizations and includes a free 30-day evaluation period and testing of Skyler's C3 Database.
In addition to interested customers, industry experts are also drawing favorable conclusions about the disruptive potential of the Skyler integrated architecture.
Bill Lupien, founder of Instinet and a highly respected industry expert said, "I'm impressed with the Skyler C3 Database for Dynamic Data — it is perfectly timed to meet the demands of increasing data volume and compliance requirements." Lupien's belief in the Skyler approach and business model led him to join the company's Board of Directors earlier this year.
An April 2006 research note by TowerGroup states, "Skyler personifies the convergence TowerGroup is seeing in the stream processing space." The report also describes the weakness of existing solutions explaining, "...Most firms that need real-time processing have either built some proprietary solution, are compromising with some time-interval query from a database, or have learned to do without."
The Skyler C3 Database overcomes traditional limitations to create powerful real-time applications that are uniquely suited for each customers need. A few examples of these applications include equity ticker plants, order book management, and real-time calculation engines.
Michael Lenahan, President & Chief Operating Officer of Skyler Technology said, "We couldn't be more pleased with our performance capability and flexibility. Skyler's C3 Database achieves stream input rates exceeding 1,000,000 messages/s with a configurable data model and flow. The Skyler C3 Database is the first off-the-shelf, real-time database that increases data processing performance while lowering development time and complexity. The convergence of point solutions into one simple, fast and easy-to-use product provides incredible value."
Skyler is conducting dozens of product demos and meetings with potential early access customers at the SIA Technology Management Conference in New York.
Lenahan went on to say, "There are many organizations that could immediately benefit from the Skyler C3 Database. We invite software developers and technology managers to come and see the product demonstration and draw their own conclusions. We're confident they will agree Skyler is a powerful new tool."
Skyler is a privately held company based in Walnut Creek, California.
